Intertwined

Intertwined by Gena Showalter- A new young adult series
September 2009

“I couldn’t put it down!”
-NY Times bestselling author P.C. Cast

There’s something about the new guy at Crossroads High…

Most sixteen-year-olds have friends. Aden Stone has four human souls living inside him:
One can time-travel.
One can raise the dead.
One can tell the future.
And one can possess another human.

With no other family and a life spent in and out of institutions, Aden and the souls have become friends.  But now, they’re causing him all kinds of trouble.

Like, he’ll blink and suddenly he’s a younger Aden, reliving the past. One wrong move, and he’ll change the future. Or, he’ll walk past a total stranger and know how and when she’s going to die.

He’s so over it. All he wants is peace.

And then he meets a girl who quiets the voices.  Well, for as long as he’s with her. Why? Mary Ann Gray is his total opposite. He’s a loner; she has friends. He doesn’t care what anyone thinks; she tries to make everyone happy. And while he attracts the paranormal, she repels it.  For her sake, he should stay away.  But it’s too late. . .

Somehow, they share an inexplicable bond of friendship. A bond about to be tested by a werewolf shape-shifter who wants Mary Ann for his own and a vampire princess Aden can’t resist.  Two romances, both forbidden.  .  . doomed.  Still, the four will enter a dark underworld of intrigue and danger. . . but not everyone will come out alive. . .

(read the excerpt) WOW!!! I am sooo impressed! I was hooked right away. The voices stopping almost has a feel like LOTU’s Ashlyn, but these voices interact with the main character. I like how the girl quiets the voices. WOW!!!

Once I got to the better part of the book, I couldn’t put it down, and I love the cliffhanger, it left me knowing and hoping for a sequel. So I was very happy to check it out and know that I get to read more on Aden Stone and his friends next year. I’m so glad this book wasn’t boring no matter what chapter I was reading.

I finished Intertwined last night, and I have to say, it was extremely hard to put down. I completely loved it. I can’t wait for Unraveled to come out. A year seems like waaayyy too long to wait for more of those sexy boys, Aden and Riley :D

I just finished reading Intertwined and I really loved it. I enjoyed how Aden and the four souls in his head interact with each other(Caleb is so funny). I must say Riley is my fave. He’s tall, dark, and handsome plus he’s a huge furry wolf. Keep up the great work. ^_^

I just finished the book and wanted to thank you for a fun, emotional, intense read. I try to keep up on the YA books for my students and can’t wait to add this to my vamp bookshelf. I probably won’t see the book again for a while once they get their hands on this one! The premise of the story is unique and the emotions you evoked through your words are still lingering as I type. I’m so excited to share this with my kiddos! The characters have personalities that sucked me in and didn’t let go- it is going to be a long year, waiting to see what happens to Aden and his friends!

I got this book at the end of August and after i finished reading the 4th Vampire Academy book, i was excited to read this! plus i wanted to buy a book with a male protagonist in it. I loved it so much, to the point where i actually got addicted to it for a while! I could really feel the love between Aden and Victoria, and the friendship between he and Mary-Ann plus the threatening between Aden and Riley is just so fun! (Although Mary-Ann and Riley’s romantic relationship should have been slightly different than from what i imagined it to be, but it’s still good) i can’t wait for the sequel to come out! I love the action in this book and your descriptions are amazing

I’m a new Gena Showalter fan but I’m hooked on your stories :) There are so many that try to be like the rest and your stories stand apart. I don’t usually read young adult books but I read Twilight like everyone else and it left me flat. Intertwined had characters and reactions to situations that were believeable. It was a very satisfying read and I hope more people read it. Ms. Meyer launched an internet campaign to get her book noticed and I think you should do the same! I would love for Aden and Mary Anne to end up on the big screen. I would definitely go see it. Keep up the good work and I will be in line next September for Unravelled. P.S. I love your LOTU series too. Hopin’ Kane gets a lady too…

I’m still reading this book (trying hard to pace myself, which is failing epically!) but I have to say it is truly amazing. I expected to enjoy it, like it a bit even, but I never expected to love it this much. It is SO GOOD. I haven’t noticed any issues with the writing (which is fantastic) and the story flows so nicely and the characters are so dynamic. REALLY great book!!!
